Comment: Obviously, this message is sent to cheat / bluff / trick unsuspecting people to sign up to their services. Customising ring tone is big business now, you can see why operator would not hesitate to use sms spamming to trick people into subscribing.
Recently, some unscrupulous ring tone operator sent ring tone subscribing script without the need to confirm. This happens to my wife where both of us are using Maxis family line with mine being the principle and hers the supplement. When we found out the scam, she called Maxis to complaint and asked to cancel the ring tone. Maxis said to unsubscribe they need to contact the principle line holder, which they did.
And the way they do verification on my indentity, it's like what credit card company does when approving big charges. Their action (Maxis) clearly pro ring tone operator and they are out to protect them. The whole scenerio, is obvious. To sign up its easy (but in this my wife don't even need to signup) and to unsubscribe you need to go through some hassle hoping you would give up and continue to subscribe.
